US Peace Corps to collaborate with Almaty organizations

Almaty, 25 March 2006 (Kazinform - website) - Peace Corps of the United States in Kazakhstan welcomes collaboration with institutions and enterprises of Almaty city that agreed to accept 2 or 3 volunteers for the period of preliminary training, Kazinform refers to reps of the organization.

18th group of the American voluntary servants will come to Kazakhstan in August. There will be conducted preliminary training in the framework of which the volunteers are to undergo probation in Almaty organizations from August 23 till November 10. Then they will disperse across the country.

This action is aimed at preparing volunteers for work in the nongovernmental and state organizations of Kazakhstan. Probation suggests working in the organization one day in a week during two months, familiarization with the activity of the company, participation in its projects, and conduction of trainings for the employees. On completion of probation period the volunteers will hold training for host organizations.

Peace Corps of the United States is an independent, non-political and unreligious organization of the US Government. It was founded in 1961 on the initiative of John Kennedy. It is directed to extension of international friendship and collaboration. It has its representations in European, South African and Asian countries. The organization has been functioning in Kazakhstan since 1993.
